Cupping Therapy

Advanced Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is an ancient alternative medicine technique that we have integrated with modern physiological science. By placing specialized cups on the skin to create a vacuum suction, we decompress underlying tissue. This facilitates rapid healing, relieves chronic muscle tension, and promotes deep cellular repair.

Our Cupping Treatment Process

01. Muscle Mapping

We assess your biomechanics to identify specific myofascial trigger points, stiff fascia, and areas of restricted blood flow.

02. Decompression

Applying the cups to create negative pressure. This pulls the skin and fascia away from the muscle, instantly relieving compression.

03. Myofascial Release

Using dynamic cupping (gliding the cups) to break down internal adhesions and "knots" without the pain of deep tissue pressure.

04. Flush & Healing

The suction draws fresh, oxygen-rich blood to the injured area while flushing out stagnant toxins and lactic acid buildup.

Specialized Cupping Techniques

We utilize different methods of cupping depending on your specific injury, pain level, and tissue condition:

Static / Dry Cupping

Cups are placed over specific trigger points and left in place for 5-10 minutes. This creates a strong localized suction that heavily targets deep, stubborn muscle spasms, making it highly effective for chronic lower back and shoulder pain.

Dynamic / Massage Cupping

A lubricating oil is applied to the skin, and the cups are glided smoothly over the muscles. This acts like a "reverse deep tissue massage," pulling the tissue up instead of pressing it down. It is incredible for large muscle groups and fascial release.

Sports Recovery Cupping

Specifically tailored for athletes and active individuals. This approach rapidly flushes out lactic acid after heavy training, dramatically reducing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and preventing injury.

Key Benefits & Uses

  • Relieves deep muscle tension & knots
  • Enhances joint mobility & range of motion
  • Improves blood circulation & drainage
  • Alleviates back, neck, and shoulder stiffness
  • Reduces chronic pain and inflammation
  • Myofascial release without painful pressure
  • Promotes deep tissue relaxation
  • Accelerates recovery from sports injuries

Frequently Asked Questions

Cupping is generally not painful. You will feel a tight, pulling suction sensation which most patients find deeply relaxing. It often leaves circular marks on the skin (which are not bruises, but blood drawn to the surface). These marks are painless and fade naturally within a few days to a week.

While highly safe, it is not for everyone. People with active skin infections, severe bleeding disorders, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or pregnant women should consult with our physiotherapists to see if it is a safe option for them.
